　　　　　本文旨在介紹Edward L. Deci博士所建構的內發動機理論，並探討此一理論對心理治療理論與技術的啟示。Deci的內發動機理論對於個體的動機次系統做了明確而完善的規劃，他所提櫫個體自我決定行為和幸福感間的密切關係，對於提昇人類自尊頗有貢獻。而對於個體如何在和環境不一致情況下改變自己的起因導向的說法，亦對心理疾病的起源及治療途徑提出不錯的觀點。將追求能力感與自我決定權視為個體最重要之動機，將個人內在起因導向人格類型視為治療的目標，這些立論均將對未來諮商與心理治療理論的發展及整合做出重要的貢獻。

　　　　　This article display Dr. Edward L. Deci's theory of intrinsic motivation andit's implications to psychotherapy. Deci's theory of intrinsic motivation hadconcretely construct of motivation subsystems. He explicit the close relationshipbetween self-determinational behavior and individual wellbeing, and explan howpeople change their causality orientation when they are inconsist with theenvironment. He believed that search for sense of competence and power ofself-determining are the primary motivations of individual, and the aim ofpsychothrapy should be the development of internal causality orientation of thepatient. The author believe that Deci's theory will [has importance contributesto the development and synthesis'of psychotherapy"theories'in the future.
