This paper is a re-interpretation of the chapter four of the first half of 'Kao Tze' in "Mencius". The main points and their philosophical significance of the argument between Mencius and Kao Tze in this chapter are clarified through philological and linguistic analyse. Kao Tze's inclination to ethical objective naturalism and Mencius' opposition to both objective naturalism and emotivism are shown as the result of such analyze.
