　　　　　This paper reviews various research literature related to expert's mind in everyday decision making and two competing theories that are attempts of scientists to decipher the innovative mind. One is the theory of inoformation processing cognition, which has guided research in information systems since its inception. The order is situativity theory, which is a more recent try by scientists of various fields studying why and how experts act thinkingly[Weick 1979]. The review suggests a possible paradigm shift for information systems research in the area of decision support-related issues. It is probably inevitable for this shift to occur, as we are moving into a time when the fit between the ecology of mind and the system becomes imperative to the success of technology deployment. The shift, nevertheless, has many implications to system development and theoretical research. Fortunately, today there is abundant research in fields ranging from psychology to neurology engaged to understand the mind. For information systems researchers, there are great opportunities to synthesize their findings in a way useful to the development of ecologically fit systems and, more importantly, to further our understanding of the mind.
