This paper has explored the conjunction of Anthropology and Minzuology from the perspectives of history, culture and discipline. The historical conjunction part discusses their separate entrance into China in modern times and their process of indigenization. China’s state crisis and the demand of state building in modern times gave rise to two correlating trends of thoughts: nationalism and sovereign state, thus giving importance to the concept of "Minzu" and encouraging the indigenization of "Minzuology". The cultural conjunction part explores the research gist of both disciplines as culture is the most important subject of their research, and how they research into the "community with a shared future for humanity" and the "Chinese national community". And the discipline conjunction part dwells on the theories relating to the two disciplines, such as the theory of similarity, the theory of difference and the theory of co-existence, and locates Anthropology as a horizontal-discipline and Minzuology as a vertical-discipline in the discipline system.
