形聲字是由表示意義范疇的義符(形旁)和表示發音信息的聲符(聲旁)組合而成,以往研究雖然肯定了聲旁在形聲字加工中的作用,但對形旁的作用仍存在一定爭議。結合行為和腦電技術,采用漢字判斷任務,以形旁和聲旁均為獨體字的形聲字作為實驗材料,通過操縱形旁頻率和聲旁頻率,本研究進一步探討了形旁和聲旁在形聲字識別中的作用。行為結果(實驗1)發現形旁頻率并未引發反應時和錯誤率上的顯著變化,而聲旁頻率在反應時和錯誤率上均產生了顯著的效應,相對于低頻聲旁,高頻聲旁條件下的反應時更長、錯誤率更高。腦電結果(實驗2)發現,相對于低頻形旁,高頻形旁在前腦區引發了一個波幅更小的N400;而聲旁頻率不僅可以在全部腦區引發N400的變化,同時在左腦的前、中腦區引發了P200的變化。相對于低頻聲旁,高頻聲旁所引發的P200波幅更小,N400波幅更大。兩實驗結果說明,在形聲字識別中,形旁和聲旁均可以產生作用,但形旁的激活時間要晚于聲旁,且作用相對較弱。
