Yunnan Yi lengthy development experience,has a very splendid culture and the ethnic heritage of ancient tradition holds many types of physical activity. In the process of development in this area,both showed a very unique folk characteristics,rooted in the soil of the nation’s culture,but also reflects the general rule of sports fields. In this paper,the use of historical data,coupled with empirical research as a basis,between sports and folk culture of the Yi Nationality two themes for the analysis of the intrinsic relationship and interaction aimed summarize all major role in the overall process of national folklore in sport can produce while positioning the historical and cultural patterns and basic laws of sports in the past evolution process.
