For so many years, librarians in Taiwan have embraced new technology without any hesitation, however, the problem is with their claim of the future. For instance, the people who believe in virtual library, tends to create the image of "a library without physical space," with twenty-four hours of information services. Based upon the viewpoint of phenomenology, the author of this article tries to criticize the above discourse, and to remind the librarians should have a second thought about what their claiming.
