　　　　　本研究目的旨在瞭解癲癇病患在心理社會層面的反應以及所採取的調適策略。研究對象為東部某準醫學中心因癲癇而在門診長期治療，且持續服用抗癲癇藥物的病患。採多次個別訪談及觀察的方式，進行資料的收集，經內容分析發現癲癇病患在心理層面反應呈現的情緒變化，包括有自覺無價值感、害怕、恥辱感、生氣及無望感；社會層面的反應方面，在人際關係部分出現社交疏離、社交限制及獲得親友支持；在就業情況包括自覺無法工作、害怕被老闆拒絕、直接被拒絕及告知後獲得接受。當個案呈現不同的情緒狀態及面對不同的人際就業壓力時其採取的調適策略也不同，有的會積極面對問題，有的則會消極畏縮。本研究期望可以藉由深入瞭解癲癇病患在心理及社會層面上的相關反應及調適策略，以做為護理人員於照護癲癇病患時之參考。
　　　　　The goal of this study was to investigate the psychosocial responses and coping strategies in the epilepsy. Participants were recruited from epilepsy patients at an outpatient unit in a medical center in eastern Taiwan. Data were collected by repeated interviews and observations. In the psychological aspect, participants expressed emotional changes, including awareness of worthlessness, fear, stigma, anger, and hopelessness. Social function included two components, personal relationships and career development. The personal relationship component included social sparseness, social limit, and support from friends and relatives. The career development component included awareness of failing to work, fear of being rejected by employers, being rejected directly, and being accepted after notification. Participants took different coping strategies when they were under pressure. Some chose to face problems, the others were dispirited. The study can serve as a preliminary assessment of psychosocial responses and coping strategies in the epilepsy.
