音樂治療是健康照護領域中一種新興的臨床技巧，它的定義是“有技巧地使用音樂來恢復、維持、改善病人的生理、心理與情緒問題”，近年來許多職能治療師與護理師都在學術期刊中建議將音樂給用於醫療領域，並對其療效提出有力的研究數據或經驗背書，而許多從視丘功能、內分泌量、beta-腦內啡、心理學等角度對音樂治療所做的研究與論點，也都強化了音樂治療的科學性。音樂治療常被輔助運用的範籌可分為：降低疼痛、舒緩情緒、增加感覺動作功能、強化早期療育、老年常見疾病之健康照顧等，也都各有學者在這五個方面對音樂治療的療效表示肯定。由於音樂治療在臨床上的介入往往是輔助性的，所以即便是無音樂背景的醫護人員，只要能適時地播放音樂或利用一些音樂活動，一樣可以將音樂給輔助運用於各自領域的療程中。音樂治療是一種相當有意義的療法 ，不但有可能使病人的病程更有進展，也可以為他們在冰冷的醫療環境中帶來溫暖與快樂，增加療程中的醫學人文品質。

Lots of literatures in eyesight related functions, beta-endorphin and psychology have scientifically backed the music therapy. Music therapy is a meaningful therapy and is capable of significantly helping patients.
