中國大陸網路事業起步較晚但是發展迅速，由於受到當代資訊主義思潮的影響，中共所推動的改革開放政策，便是以資訊為載體(matrix)，進行與資本主義世界體系接軌的工作。然而網路對中國大陸所造成的衝擊就是網路不再是可由共產黨及其政府所能全盤掌控，人民逐漸可自行建立發布和接收訊息的管道；可以利用網路串連意見形成共識。網路上的資訊傳遞將迫使封閉的中國大陸社會更加快速地開放，不僅將會改變人民的思考方式、成長經驗甚至購買商品渠道，同時也將促使中共傳統集權的政治結構產生深刻的裂變。

Internet in Mainland China has started very late but developed rapidly. By the influence of contemporary informationalism, China’s open up policy takes information as its matrix to catch up and connect with the world of capitalism. At the same time, Internet has brought great impact on Mainland China: Network is no longer controlled by the communist government. People can establish their own channel for transmitting and receiving information and can form the consensus by linking comments on network. Information transmission on Internet will enforce closed Chinese society open up more rapidly. The ways that people think, growing up experience, and even shopping methods are going to shift. At the same time, the traditional political structure of Mainland China, centralization, is going to transform dramatically.
