The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of beginning piano teacher, and to compare the differences of attitudes of parents from diverse backgrounds toward piano teachers. Parents' age, education level, music background, and nationality were examined. The analysis of different background variables among parents revealed main determinants of piano-teacher selection. The results showed parents from different education level, music background, and nationality held different viewpoints and values concerning the teacher's music degree, teaching experience, teaching style, features of personality, professional skills, and teaching methods. Finally, this study provided three recommendations; including expanding the range of subjects, increasing the variables, as well as adopting qualitative research methods.
