Zeng-Xiang Fu had ever mentioned that "Ye's writings of 《The Overarching Booklist of Ch'ing Literature》 and 《Study Journey in Zi-Yuan》are worth being treated as the criterion for contemporary due to elaborate completion in learning, exploring and verifying of engraving and proofreading". From his point, we can see the book granted with a very high evaluation within professional scholars. The article attempts, at the basis of contents in 《The Overarching Booklist of Ch'ing Literature》, to research phenomena related to book pulishing in Sung dynasty. Sung appeared as a dynasty of "luxuriant literature", plus its significant development of engraving print skill, proficient and widely utilized papermaking technology, the advantages contributed to bring South/ North Sung dynasties the golden age ever in Chinese book history; its achievement had been even far beyond that in Ming and Ching dynasties. The reputed scholar, Yin-Ke Chen, has alleged "The evolution of Chinese national culture has gone throught thousands of years, and Zhao's Sung made the peak". It is thus clear that Sung takes a critical key when talking about Chinese publishing. In De-Hui Ye's 《The Overarching Booklist of Ch'ing Literature》, there are as more as 40 some clauses entitled by initiating with " Sung" that nearly account for one third of the entire book clauses.
