漢語中的許多詞彙，原來都只是普通用語，由於長期使用並積累了特定的意涵，便逐漸被賦予更深層的文化義蘊，甚至有因此影響文化衍變的趨勢。所以，詞彙運用是語文中最值得探討的新課題。從傳統到現代詞彙的演進來看，可明瞭古今義的遵循與變革；從兩岸詞彙、術語、流行語運用的異同來看，可明瞭文化斷層的現象，以及彌縫與融合的需要；從翻譯與修辭等面向來看，可以推知外來語與漢語之間的衝擊與融合。準此，爲使兩岸華人在溝通上更富彈性，並理解不同區域常民的生活態度與文化認同，本文將進行解析社會結構的複雜性，以了解不同區域漢字詞彙運用的現象與文化的衍變與發展。

Plenty of characters and vocabulary from sinology, in fact, are common phraseology.
