本文探討多元輔助療法復興之時代背景、精神與內涵、及其在當代主流醫療下，透過溫和融滲與西醫體系交合產出的多樣性照顧風貌。本文分為五部份：第一部分說明輔助療法之意義與內涵，包括身心靈整體健康觀、醫病關係的溫度、典範轉移所牽動的視線轉移與世界轉移 (從注視匱乏到細數資源)、以及存在品質的關注、醫療過程的參與感、自主性、以及可控制感。第二部分試圖透過「活出意義」與「保持活著」雙管齊觀的視野交集，呈現輔助療法與西醫系統之異同。第三部分則介紹多元輔助療法的內涵，包括順勢療法、身心療法、自然療法、靈性按摩、能量療法等五類，並就其中多重跨界之「表達性藝術治療」在老人族群之應用深入解說，譬如音樂律動療法、泥塑療法、笑瑜珈療法、靜心療法、沙遊治療、繪畫治療、舞蹈治療、戲劇治療、攝影治療等，以及一般機構普遍外掛的園藝治療、芳香療法、靈性按摩、飲食療法、動物輔助療法、牧靈輔導與靈修輔導等。第四部分鳥瞰多元輔助療法市場走勢，鼓勵實務工作者以跨領域團隊合作的方式進行套裝服務輸送，選擇符合個人化、個體化、整體性的輔助療法組裝，陪伴老人及其家屬圓滿此生未竟事務。最後引介「美國國家輔助暨另類醫療中心」評估輔療效果之參考指標，提供使用輔療者可以主動地自助評估、進而正確地選擇個人所適用的輔療形式與醫病關係，有尊嚴地過此一生。

The elderly have very complicated health care requirements, a wide range from physical care to psychological and spiritual care. A holistic approach is emphasized, so that spiritual, psycho-social, physical and emotional needs of the elderly are asked to be fulfilled, especially by the well-designed package of multiple complementary therapy strategies. In this article, which emphasize the personalized and individualized care packages of multiple complementary therapies for the elderly are elaborated. There are 5 parts to be expounded. First, point out the differences between multiple complementary therapies and alternative therapies. Secondly, illustrate why and how the multiple complementary therapies work and work with the elderly. Thirdly, transmit the diverse methods of multiple complementary therapies, and to detail the expressive arts therapy for the elderly. Fourthly, show forth the extraordinary demand of manpower requirements on caregivers, especially on multiple complementary therapists for the elderly in Taiwan. Last, introduce “self-help checking list” from American “National Center for Complementary & Alternative Medicine” to Taiwanese native users for checking the effectiveness. The suggestions to the practitioners and future researches are also discussed.
