由於新古典聯合效用模型對於家庭決策行為隱含了許多限制，所謂的「集體家庭決策」（Collective household decision）模型遂於晚近興起，其中又以Manser and Brown（1980）以及McElory and Horney（1981）最具代表性。他們所用的分析架構，基本上，皆為合作賽局（cooperative game）的概念，而McElory and Horney以Nash談判解模型該劃家庭決策過程，更允許我們對於新古典模型進行巢式（nested）檢定。 利用1988年的「臺灣地區婦女生活狀況調查」、「所得分配調查」之合併資料，本文在McElroy and Horney之Nash談判解家庭決策模型架構下，進行了臺灣地區小家庭勞動供給行為之實證研究。主要的計量分析結果顯示:非薪資所得歸屬於丈夫或妻子，對於夫、妻之勞動供給行為會產生不同的影響效果。就妻子之勞動供給量而言，妻子之財產所得與經常性移轉所得，對其具有顯著的正向影響；丈夫之經常性移轉所得，則對其具有顯著的反向影響。丈夫之勞動供給量，除了妻子之移轉所得會對其產生顯著的負向影響外，其他非薪資所得的影響效果非常有限。由此，新古典聯合效用模型之適用性，並無法通過臺灣地區資料的考驗。

　　　　　A key issue that separates bargaining from neoclassical models is the treatment of income: in neoclassical models, only pooled family income matters; in the bargaining approach, who has control over various income sources matters. In this paper, we present an empirical application of the McElroy and Horney (1981) Nash-bargained model of household decisions. Our parametric tests of hypotheses yield some evidences against the income-pooling restrictions imposed by the neoclassical model.
