　　　　　由台大、中研院、內政部及美國芝加哥大學等單位合作完成的1989年 「台灣婦女生活狀況調查」，是以主計處1988年「家庭收支調查」之樣本為母體 來源，採用分層二段法隨機抽出四千餘位25-59歲婦女，詢問受訪婦女對婦女福 利措施的認知與態度、婚姻與居住等狀況之歷年記錄、就業現況與就業歷史、家 庭概況、受訪者與父母及公婆間之移轉情形等多方面的變項。這項調查之作業嚴 謹、問卷內容豐富，是勞動、家庭經濟學方面極具研究價值的資料。本文首先介 紹這項資料，希望研究者善用以發揮其學術潛力。此外，本文進一步就國內其他 相關調查，區分為婦女婚育與就業、一般人力運用概況、世代移轉關係、社會態 度與意向四項子題，分別介紹各子題內的相關資料，並加以比較。
　　　　　The purpose of this paper is to describe the nature of the TaiwanWomen and Family Survey (WFS) and other related surveys, andto compare the contents and research potential of these surveys.The WFS was conducted jointly bv National Taiwan University,Academia Sinica and the University- of Chicago in 1989 with financial support from the Ministry of Interior Affairs and the NationalScience Council of Taiwan. This is an island-wide survey of womenaged 25-59 randomly selected from the 1989 Family ExpenditureSurvey sample which has been conducted by the Directorate General of Budget Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) yearly since1976. The WFS contains questions on the spouse, parents, parentsin-law, and children of the female respondents; yielding fruitful information concerning the fields of labor and family economics.
