國內高等教育圖書館在面臨經費刪減的困境後，無不積極思考尋求可能解決的方式以維持圖書館的經營及服務。而美國高等教育圖書館在70年代便遭遇到與我們目前相似的處境，本文試圖歸納出美國高等教育圖書館為解決經費問題所實施的一些因應措施及作法，包括對內加強管理與對外拓展財務來源等方式，也許可以幫助我們找出解決的方式。文中並對美國高等教育圖書館的募款制度作一探討，在國內高等教育募款逐漸成為趨勢的同時，提供國內圖書館界參考。

　　　　　The libraries in the higher educational institutions have seen more financial constraints than ever before in the past few years. Seeking out the possible ways to survive the budget cuts has been the main issue of the operational and managerial levels. As a matter of fact, libraries in the higher educational institutions in the United States had gone through the same processes two decades ago and some vital strategies had been developed. The purpose of this study is to reveal the approaches been taken which could be good sources for our references. Fundraising programs are also discussed in this paper.
