　　　　　1960年代，法國前衛藝術的潮流已落在一群邊緣的藝術家身上，然而巴黎畫壇並 未覺察此一先兆，仍然沈浸於抒情式抽象的世界，敏銳的批評家黑斯塔尼，原也是抽象藝術 的大力支持者，看過克萊恩的單色畫後，深受其宇宙能量的感動，全心投入此一「新寫實主 義」團體的組成而奔走，為他們的每一個個人或團體的展覽撰寫序文，並為凝聚此一團體而 奔走，並建構其系統理論。 透過「現成物」的觀念， 探索現代工業化自然撕裂的海報、 廢棄機器、汽車、撿拾的舊物 ...，甚至是「垃圾」都成為他們創作的語彙，喚起人們重新觀注工業化後的現代自然中， 久被忽視之「美」的元素，並挑戰藝術品收藏的觀念，如唐格里在展覽時，作品本身活動過 後而自動毀滅，作品要如何收藏﹖新寫實主義者不斷推出與參與各國的藝術活動，法國人終 於肯定其藝術的主流地位。 新寫實主義者的「行動 - 表演」創作手法，在表演藝術的名詞出現之前已啟開了先河， 與 新達達、 集合藝術、普普藝術、最低限藝術、貧窮藝術.... 共同織造了六０年代前衛藝術 之盛況。
