Through questionnaire,online survey and interviews,this paper investigates and analyzes the information literacy education in university libraries in Wuling mountain area on the aspects of teaching facilities and teachers,library orientation education for freshmen,information retrieval courses and lectures. Suggestions are provided on improving the information literacy education, such as building multi-dimensional teaching team, enhancing teachers’ information literacy and teaching ability; enriching teaching content and resources; providing better instructional approaches and segmenting instructional objects,as well as making full use of the new media platforms.
