The purpose of this study was to realize the basic level policemen's leisure constraints and compare the differences by gender, marital status, nature of work and age. This study was carried out from purposive sampled among 11 police stations (1,060 police officers') in Taiwan. The original data were processed through SPSS 8.0 for Windows. Through descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe's method, the findings were as follows: 1. The top three of the basic level police officers' leisure constraints were: time (M=.3 18), location & facility (M=.309), and mentor (M=.192). The last was personality (M=.012). 2. In general, there was a little difference in leisure constraints for the basic level police officers' on gender, marriage status, the nature of work and age. To summarize, most the basic level police officers' leisure constraints could be overcome by improving on shift duty, good agency system and encourage them to participate leisure activities.
