JinPingMei (The Plum in the Golden Vase; Golden Lotus) is the classical novel with the most historical materials in the field of drama. Its content includes writings related to drama performing, offering sufficient references for understanding drama activities at that time. The novel also contains corresponding subject connotation as well as the meaning for formal structure to exist. This paper will deal with these drama materials on the basis of the original text, exploring drama-related writings in JinPingMei and its influence and significance toward the fiction domain.
