Reviewing the beginning of nation consciousness from history and
climate in Japanese society, and the process of making people to
acknowledge her existence, this article tries to explore the vein and
valuation of nation consciousness in Japanese society.
After World War Ⅱ, most of Japanese often connect the concept of
“nation” with “war” because of battle defeated, sometimes “patriotism”
be viewed as a taboo in Japan. Following the globalization of Japanese
economy and unsettlement in Far East Asia diplomacy, how to reconstruct
people’s nation consciousness will be an important issue in Japanese
society during the 21st century.
