本文研究目的有二：首先，探討故佈疑陣命案的定義、相關實證研究、初始行為動機、類型、行為破綻、現場指標及偵查策略；其次，剖析在偵查實務上非常罕見的自慰性窒息死，其死亡原因、陳屍型態、背景成因、女性死者、現場跡證及偵查策略等，此種意外死亡案件很容易被誤判為故佈疑陣的命案，或者是自殺事件。最後，將這兩種案類加以綜合討論與比較。
