本研究目的旨在修正刺激尋求量表，建立適合臺灣本土使用的量表。以青少年為樣本，量表的向度與題目特性依據 Zuckerman (1979)所發展的量表為架構加以修正。研究過程包含兩個階段，樣本總計 808份，經項目分析、探索式與驗證式因素分析、效標關聯效度分析。結果顯示量表包含戰慄與冒險尋求 (Trill and Adventure Seeking, TAS)、經驗尋求(Experience Seeking, ES)、反抑制(Disinhibition, DIS)及厭倦感受 (Boredom Susceptibility, BS)等 4個因素 16個題目，量表有良好信效度。應用分析方面，男性比女性有較高的刺激尋求、運動效能、運動參與行為；另高刺激尋求的青少年比低刺激尋求的青少年求有較高的運動效能、運動參與行為。結論，量表適用於青少年刺激尋求的檢測。
The purpose of this study was to modify the Sensation Seeking Scale (SSS) so as to develop a scale suitable for the Taiwanese population. The dimensions and item characteristics of the scale were derived and modified from Zuckerman’s (1979) scale. A total of 808 junior high school students were recruited from two data collection phases. The statistical analyses included exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis as well as the analysis concerning criterion-related validity. The results revealed that the SSS contained four subscales, including “thrill and adventure seeking,” “disinhibition,” “experience seeking,” and “boredom susceptibility” with a total of 16 items. Notably, the SSS demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity. With respect to the applied analyses, it was found that male adolescents had higher sensation seeking, exercise self-efficacy, and exercise participation behavior than their female counterparts; high sensation seeking group for adolescents demonstrated higher exercise self-efficacy and exercise participation behavior than the lower level group. In conclusion, the SSS is a sound instrument for use in measuring adolescents’ sensation seeking.
