Purpose: The study aims to explore the impact of increasing 3-point line distance on the 3-point shooting performance of the HBL male and female. Method: This research is based on the top 8 male and female teams from HBL. Compared the statistics of 3-point shot from 99 semester year and 100 semester year using independent samples t-test. Analyzed the effect of the increment of 3-point line on the 3-point shot performance of the players. Results: 1. Top 8 male teams decreased 3-point attempts, 3-point made and 3-point percentage with significant differences. 2. The 3-point made and 3-point percentage of the top 8 female teams decreased, while 3-point attempts increased. But none of them reach significant differences. Conclusion: The increment of 3-point line do affect the performance of HBL male 3-point statistics. On the other hand, the attempts made of the female teams increased. The decrement of the number of 3-point made will also lead to the decrement of 3-point percentage. Therefore, in order to keep the best sport performance at any time so that the player adjust quicker to the changing official basketball rules, we suggest to increase the shooting distance while practice and enhance the weight training.
