The main purpose of this study was to analysis the backhand stroke technique of Chang and Mladenovic who advanced 2012 OEC Taipei WTA challenger final. This study collected the data of players' forehand, backhand, winner, and unforced errors, and the use of backhand ground stroke, receive, cutting, and volley. The results showed that both players' backhand stroke percentages were slightly higher than forehand stokes, but their backhand strokes were lacked of changes. After Chang's loss of first set, she changed her stroke strategies. Her backhand winners were higher than first set, but forehand unforced errors became higher, too. Chang's unforced errors were higher than Mladenovic which caused her lost this match.
