Zhen-He, Wang, the author of The Ox-Cart Filled with Dowry, adapted his novel for a film script. It is hard to transform such a special literary style and the content of the novel itself into a film with images and sounds. The author carefully explores replaceable elements which correspond with the original novel to display a carnival of words, exaggerate the hilariousness, and highlight the theme of a hopeless destiny. However, due to a great gap between expressions represented in different medias and different interpretations of the empty sections in the novel, the film script becomes a different representation compared with the original novel.
