運動除了是一種技能的表現之外，更具有人格特質上的學習，例如積極、合作、專注、紀律、責任…，至於另一個常來指涉這類型特質的用語，並與運動常有所連結，即我們所稱的「男性氣概」。運動作為男性氣概的表現，有著其明顯的歷史成因與社會事實，皆明顯的具有濃厚的人格塑造意涵，然而如果簡單的認為具有相似的本質，不免落入簡化語詞多元概念的侷限中，研究引用運動與男性氣概相關論述為基礎，提出複合化的特質展現、多元化的身體表現，以及差異化的策略取向，來說明語詞概念間相似外的動態幅度，兩者符合所謂的「家族相似性」。

Sport offers a vehicle for representing a set of skills; it also enhances individual's personal qualities, such as, aggressiveness, collaboration, dedication, self-control and developing responsibility. The term ＂masculinity＂ on other hand, can also fully describe aforementioned personalities and has a strong association with sports. The fact that sports and masculinity are closely linked has its historical consequences as well as social factors; in this case, both of the attributions help to cultivate personal growth. However, by simply considering sports and masculinity share a great amount of similarities can be viewed as an example of overgeneralized, hence confines itself to the phase-diversity concept. Based on the connection between sports and masculinity, this study proposes three distinct notions which are representation of multiple traits, the diversities of body expressions and strategy-oriented differentiations. Moreover, the similarities and dissimilarities between sports and masculinity create a great range of flexibility which also qualifies what so-called ＂family resemblance＂.
