     由於網際網路的普及,電腦輔助研究已可超越只做研究資料統計分析和電腦輔助電話訪問的限制。電子問卷調查(electronic survey)結合調查法的原理和新傳播科技,由受訪者使用文本處理程式,自己把資料鍵入電腦,再由研究人員直接把資料轉換成電腦可讀形式,以便統計分析,省卻許多人力和處理資料的繁複工作。 本研究以政治大學校園網路使用者為對象,以電子郵件(E-mail)方式透過網路寄問卷給使用者。主要目的是了解利用電子郵寄問卷在校園進行調查的可行性,並探討電子問卷回收率、電子問卷回覆者的人口特質及回答品質。 電子問卷回收率為39.7%。主要發現有:網路問卷回收迅速,近六成的問卷是在每一次寄出後的兩天內寄回,但受訪者的電腦能力會影響回收率;回覆者基本上是同質性相當高的團體,他們對電腦和網路的使用率很高;催覆可以有效提高回收率。早回覆問卷者和晚回覆者的特性,基本上沒有顯著差異。
     Computer-mediated communication systems have made possible new methods of gathering survey data. It allows researchers to explore new possibility and frontier of reseorch endeavors. Using electronic survey is one of the effective means of collecting social data in academic, scientific, and business contexts. This research tried to examine (1) the possibility of using electronic mail as a research tool in the university; and (2) the social and demograhic characteristics of the network users. The response rate was 39.7%. Respondents tended to be experienced computer users who used the computer network often. The methodology used in this study demonstrated an effective and relatively cost-and-time efficient means of electronic mail surveys. However, the computer literacy of the ordinary people could be the barrier while conducting electronic surveys.
