The excavation of Chu State Bamboo Scripts during the Warring States Period and Mawangdui Silk Scripts in the Han Dynasty opened a new horizon for the study of pre-Qin philosophical thoughts. My understanding of Confucianism in the past has been shaken by a break. Since the Spring and Autumn Period, Confucianism has gradually become an important type of thinking in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty under the advocacy of Confucius, and its inheritance of the traditional Zhouwen has become one of the characteristics of Confucianism. Confucianists are not only the carrier of the Zhou culture, but also invented the old learning under the changes of the times. It took more than a century from Confucius to the Warring States Period, when the inheritance of Confucianism, Mencius reached a new height. However, the development of ideas between Confucius and Meng for more than a hundred years, if the first emperor’s burning of books and Xiang Yu’s torch when he entered the city of Xianyang had broken the classics, some of the available documents would have been lost when Ban Gu wrote the "Hanshu·Yiwenzhi". After the turmoil in the late Western Han Dynasty, the dilemma of "Yiwenzhi" in the Central Plains records was that there were only fragments and no books to read. Therefore, the so-called post-Confucianism, the seventy disciples and the development of Confucianism in the later period have no direct ideological historical data to rely on. Whenever Confucianism is talked about, there is often an ideological jump in time. Therefore, Guodian Chu Jian really added a missing link to this ideological jump.
This article begins with a reorganization of the existing research results, and further analyzes the development of Confucianism in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty and the literature in Guodian Chu Bamboo Slips. Continue to explore topics such as the relationship between nature and man, the theory of human nature, the theory of self-cultivation, and political philosophy in Si and Mencius, in order to connect the Confucianism in the Chu Bamboo Slips from Guodian to Mencius, which is the development theory of Zisi and Mencius. Possible context in the history of thought or in the philosophical sense.
