本文主要的目的在闡明德行倫理學重新興起的原因，以及它對當代道德教育的影響。首先將說明以義務論與效益論為代表的現代倫理學理論所面臨的四項困難。其次要探討何謂德行倫理學，它的特徵，以及哲學家對此一名詞的理解與用法。接著將對近年來德行倫理學的發展作一概略而宏觀的審視；最後將說 明德行倫理學與當代道德教育之間的關聯。

This paper explains the reasons for the renaissance of virtue ethics, and shows its influences on contemporary moral education. Its explanation consists of four parts. First, the four difficulties confronted modern ethical theories of deontology and utilitarianism are explained. Second, virtue ethics is shown, its characteristics expounded, and the understandings and uses of this term by various philosophers presented. Third, the development of the virtue ethics in recent times is examined in its generality. Finally, its connection with contemporary moral education is discussed.
