Wang Bi started the metaphysical interpretations of Yi Jing from the perspective of Lao-Zhuang and represented the doctrine of Yi in the Wei and Jin Period. The prominently metaphysical philosophy of the Wei and Jin Period is presented in the annotations of Lao zi and Yi Jing, and the defining feature of the annotations of Yi Jing is the breakaway with the images, which is an important and unforeseen revolutionary act at that time. this paper is intended to explain Wang Bi's ideas about "Wu" and "nature" from the approach of breakaway with images and identify the consistency of Wang's doctrine by finding the link between Lao zi's annotations of Yi and the idea of "understanding sages' Wu."
