尋路是尋求空間問題的解答,隨著超媒體的出現,3D虛擬實境繼真實空間成為了人類下一個探討的研究環境,本研究嘗試從空間概念的觀點來探討使用者在虛擬實境的尋路表現。 空間概念的建立是尋路策略的基礎工作,而環境資訊是影響空間概念的重要因素,故本研究設計了四個虛擬空間,分別賦予不同的環境資訊,進而檢驗組間的尋路行為表現;根據分析結果顯示,不同環境資訊條件下的尋路表現確實有差異產生,在時間、轉錯彎與後退次數等尋路行為的評估中,地圖環境資訊的表現效果在三者中最為明顯,空間特徵與標示系統雖亦具有顯著差異,但兩組間的表現差異卻未明顯,因此在應用上以地圖輔助較佳,同時在瀏覽者的空間能力與虛擬實境的尋路表現間也呈現極高相關的情形,除後退次數為中度相關以下。
Wayfinding is the solution to the orientation in space. With the coming of hypermedia, people is starting to seek those solutions in 3D virtual reality, instead of in the real world. Based on spatial conception, this research aims at finding the proper cues in VR by investigating people's performances in wayfinding. Environmental information is a crucial factor in the establishing of spatial conception, which is, in turn, the foundation of wayfinding strategy. In this research, four VR spaces are developed, and given different environment information, so that different wayfinding performances can be compared. The outcome shows that, evaluated in time, wrong turns and backing off, the differences of the performances in wayfinding are significant. Map, among all three groups, is proved to have the best effect on finding the way concerning time, wrong turns and backing off. In contrast, although spatial features and sign systems are effective too, the difference between the performances of these two groups is not significant. Therefore, a conclusion can be drawn that the map has the best effect on wayfinding. In the meantime, the correlation between the user's spatial ability and his performance in wayfinding is highly significant, although it is lower than middle significant in terms of the times of backing off.
