Wether Wang An-Yi's short stories or novels, all of them are with mimic and vivid details, but due to the intentaional vagueness of story's social backgrounds, they are more like stories about life and morality than modern fiction. However, in the recent fictional work Shang Zhung Hung Lien Xia Zhung O, Wang polished the story's social background in order to describe the transformation of a small town during different periods. Therefore, this fictional work is Wang's most special one, close to the western definition of "Novel".
