The development of Hsinchu science park has not only promoted the development of high-tech industries in Taiwan, but also stimulated the upgrading of traditional manufacturing industries in the surrounding area, particularly the development of glass industry. This paper aims to identify the relationship between high-tech environment and the development of local glass industry in Hsinchu technopolis. The preliminary study concludes that the high-tech industries can indirectly helped the transformation of traditional industry into cultural and creative industry through the linkage of human resources. The co-existence of newly developed high-tech industries and traditional cultural industry has demonstrated the possibility of a balanced development between high-tech industries and traditional cultures in the technopolis development.
