This meta-analysis includes 14 studies involving about 9,600 individuals. The question addressed is whether father's backgrounds are associated with children's attachment security to their fathers, whether children's attachment security is associated with children's life, and what the strength of these relations are. The main result finds: Children from intact family show positive attachment security to their fathers (Z=6.188***, □=0.128), but according to Cohen's (1977) conventional criteria, the effect size is small. Attachment security to fathers is associated with children's positive pressure consciousness(Z=11.731***, □=0.378), negative pressure consciousnesses (Z=-17.571**, □=-0.325), life adaption (Z=12.006***, □=0.404), and interpersonal problem solving (Z=17.804***, □=0.267), according to Cohen, the effect size is moderate.
