本研究旨在探討媒體評論體育運動新聞事件時，在男女性別上論述的情形，以臺灣的中國時報、聯合報、自由時報及民生報社論內容做為分析對象，分析時間自民國78年至94年止。本研究採內容分析法，具體之結論如下：一、報紙社論關心男性體育運動新聞事件的比例高出女性甚多，可見體育運動世界呈現的現象是以男性為主的情況。二、報紙社論對體育運動議題有關男女性別上的評論，會因報導國家對象、個人或團體（隊）對象、職業屬性的不同而有差異，但沒有因為報導立場是正面或負面而有不同。
The purpose of this study was to analyze the different between men and women that media sports comment. The editorials content of China Times, United Daily, Liberty Times, Min Sheng Daily were collected as the subjects for this study. The content analysis was adopted as the instrumentations of this study. The research period were from 1989 to 2005. The conclusions were as follows. First, The newspapers editorial cared about male sports news event was more than female, obviously the sports phenomenon of the world was leadership by the male. Second, The newspapers editorial commented on sports news in the male and female were different, because of the object of nation, the object of team or individual, the professional sport or not, but does not different because of the attitude was positive or negative.
