運動為國族主義意涵的重要載具，曾雅妮在世界女子高壇的優異表現給了媒體操作國族議題的契機，在冠軍與「世界第一」的加持下，曾雅妮的媒體再現除了充滿台灣國族認同之外，性別意涵意值得特別關注。因此，本研究以批判論述分析為方法，探討《蘋果日報》在2011及2012年間報導曾雅妮的媒體再現。研究結果發現，報導文本大量扣連台灣意象，利用他人的肯定建構「曾雅妮神話」，並透過他者的形構凝聚排他的共識；在LPGA台灣錦標賽期間藉由國人支持曾雅妮的報導與大量消費國旗議題營造我族成員上下一心的團結意象，成了展現國族主義 與凝聚國族認同的最佳場合；大量的身體書寫與泛女性特質的隱喻，加強女性標籤化的實踐，呈現出有別於男性選手的國族論述內涵；台灣高爾夫國族主義在2012年曾雅妮陷入低潮後顯得搖搖欲墜，《蘋果日報》利用淡化賽事結果與強調球后身分的策略來轉移失敗焦點，並藉由奮起的期待維繫逐漸被削弱的國族熱情。

Sport is an important vehicle for nationalistic implications. Yani Tseng's outstanding performance in women's golf gave the media opportunity to operate on nationalistic angles. This essay aims to examine how mass media represented Tseng, as she reigned as the world number one female golfer in 2011 and fell from the top in 2012. This research also aims to explore these stories which represented gender stereotype and nationalistic coverage, especially after Tseng's performance deteriorated significantly. The study adopted discourse analysis as a method to analyze the stories on Apple Daily from 2011 to 2012. The study shows the reports articulate Taiwanese imagery, constructed Tseng’s myth through the praise from Taiwan’s significant others. At the same time, marking “us” by forming the image of ＂others＂. The press also built national unity and inspired national identity by reporting supports from compatriots and controversy on national flag during the LPGA Taiwan Championship. The nationalistic discourse of female athletes is also full of writings on female bodies and metaphor of female characteristics which is different from male athletes to strengthen female labeling. When Tseng was in a prolonged slump in 2012, Apple Daily neglected the game results and emphasized the ranking to shift the focus from her failure by emphasizing the expectation to rise vigorously to keep the weakened nationalistic passion alive.
