Participating in student organizations is a crucial way for college students to build multiple competences. On the campus, any learning plan for students should be in the eye of career development for students. In order to understand the relative importance of excellent leadership competences for college student cadres, this study was preceded from 2004-2006 gathering two different samples including totally 1725 college student cadres. One sample was cadres from ordinary student organizations, who were joining annual nation-wide seminars sponsored by Ministry of Education (MOE), the other sample, the cadres from extraordinary student organizations rated by MOE. Results showed that for either sample, the relative importance of 15 excellent leadership competences for college student cadres among three years was muck alike. And for either sample, the interpersonal-oriented competency factor was regarded more important than task-oriented competency factor. Further, cadres from nation-wide seminars regarded the interpersonal-oriented competency factor more important than cadres from extraordinary student organizations. Discussion and suggestion were provided.
