文獻顯示運動是男性的領域，女性比較不愛運動，本研究探討高中男女生跑步意圖與行爲的性別差異，以東部某女中（全女生）及某高中（全男生）學生爲研究母體，蒐集跑步意圖問卷483份（男生221份，女生262份）與跑步行爲問卷413份（男生191份，女生222份）。結果顯示高中男女生對跑步的態度沒有差異；女生認爲重要關係人贊同她們跑步；高中男女生對從事跑步資源與能力的知覺並無差異。男生跑步的意圖顯著高於女生。女生過去跑步經驗以及跑步行爲卻顯著比男生多。本研究結論有二：（一）預測高中男女生跑步意圖與行爲模式截然不同，過去行爲是預測男生意圖與行爲最重要的變項，而知覺行爲控制是預測女生跑步行爲最重要的變項；（二）單性學校脈絡中高中女生顯著比男生喜愛跑步。文末並對未來研究與體育政策提出建議。
Sport tends to be male dominated. This study explored gender differences of jogging intention and behavior for adolescents. The population was high school students from all female and all male schools located in eastern part of Taiwan. Four hundred eighty three intention (221 males and 262 females) and 413 behavior (191 males and 222 females) questionnaires were collected. The results revealed that no attitude differences existed between boys and girls. High school girls experienced more subjective norms than boys. In terms of perceived resources and jogging ability, no differences existed between boys and girls. Boys had higher jogging intention than girls. Girls had more jogging experience and behavior than boys, despite their low intention and perceived behavioral control. Two conclusions were drawn. First, the predictive models of jogging intention and behavior between boys and girls are different, with past behavior being the best predictor for boys and perceived behavioral control for girls. Secondly, high school girls in the contexts of single-sex school enjoy participating in jogging more than boys. Suggestions were made for practice and future research.
