本研究之目的乃以運動自信心理論為基礎，了解性別、國手與否、一般組和公開組、技術水準等不同條件變項對大專網球選手的自信心程度。在研究方法上，以工作和自我取向量表以及運動自信心量表為研究工具，以參加 2009全國大專校院運動會的 324位網球選手為研究對象（男 188位，平均年齡 20.30歲；女 129位，平均年齡 20.23歲）。採問卷調查方式，以立意取樣方式進行調查，問卷回收率 92.57%。經二因子變異數 (two-way ANOVA)統計分析，本研究結果發現：一、不同性別、國手與否、一般組和公開組高工作、高自我取向者的自信心程度大於低工作、高自我取向者，也大於高工作、低自我取向者及也大於低工作、低自我取向者。二、男生的自信心程度大於女生。三、國手的自信心程度大於非國手。根據研究結果，本研究建議加強女生和非國手的自信心程度。
