Abstract Korean Peninsula has long been under unstable situation. It is primarily due to successive North Korean leaders having been in contradiction of international norms and therefore caused fluctuation in the region. Taking office less than a half year, the new North Korean leader, Jin Jung-Un, is challenging his agreement with the U.S. Against international opposition, North Korean launched a Galaxy-3 long-range ballistic missile on April 13,2012.This study attempt to explore North Korean’s satellite-launch and its purpose and strategic implication, so as to develop following observation focuses and understand how Taiwan can respond to this event.
