題名:初學者認知特質與電腦程式設計能力間相關因素之研究

     本研究主要在於探討認知能力中的語文推理、數的能力、空間關係、抽 像推理和智力及認知型態中的場地獨立/依賴與初學者的程式設計能力之間的關 係,並進一步整理出初學者在學習程式設計時,較不清楚及較易犯錯的地方,以 便提供給任教的相關老師的參考。 參與本研究的對象為國立臺南師範學院初等教育系一年甲、乙、丙三班修習資訊 科學的學生,共計102人。學生分別接受語文推理、數的能力、空間關係、抽象 推理和藏圖測驗,及程式設計能力測驗,其中程式設計包括語法(理解、組織、 除錯和修改等能力)。 根據研究結果發現: 1.男女學習者的各項程式設計能力中,在除錯能力、修改能力及總分項目上有 顯著的差異,男生的表現要比女生來得好。 2.語文推理與程式設計的組織能力有顯者的正相關。數的能力、空間關係與智 力都與程式設計中的除錯、修改和組織能力有顯著的正相關。至於抽象推理與場 地獨立性部份,除了與語法部份沒有顯著的相關外,與其他的理解、除錯、修改 和組織能力之間都有顯著的正相關。 3.認知能力對程式設計各項能力之逐步多元迴歸分析,投入語文能力、數的能 力、抽象推理、空間關係和場地獨立性等變項,結果發現空間關係、抽象推理和 場地獨立三項認知因素,是相當重要的變項,可以分別有效的預測程式設計的理 解能力、除錯能力、修改能力和組織能力。 4.空間關係、場地獨立、抽象推理、數的能力和語文推理等主要變項,偏屬第 一組典型因素與學生程式設計能力中的理解、除錯、修改和組織等能力,有相當 程度的共變現象。而抽象推理、空間關係和語文推理等變項,則偏屬第二典型因 素與程式設計的理解和語法能力有較強的共變現象。 5.初學者在學習程式語法部分常犯的錯誤,大致可以分成三類,命令語、非輸 入輸出敘述和輸入輸出敘述。 最後根據本研究之結果,提出幾點建議,做為電腦程式教學及未來研究上之參考。
     The objective of the study was to have the relationships of verbal reasoningability, mathematic ability, spatial relationship, logical reasoning and fieldindependence to the initial programming competence examined. For the purposesof this study, programming competencewas determined by the extent to whichstudents were able to: (1) recognize the syntax, (2) predict output (comprehension),(3) write programs (composition), (4) debug programs, and (5) modify programs. Subjects included one hundred and two college students who were enrolled inthe information science course. The equivalent of eight weeks of programminginstruction in BASIC was provided. The results indicated that verbal reasoning ability, mathematic ability,spatial relationship, logical reasoning and field-independence were significantfactors in different programming competencies but syntax.
