　　　　　This paper discusses application of computer networks to cooperative distance learning, outlines the design and implementation strategies of the applications, and addresses related research issues. In this paper, we introduce the CORAL (Cooperative Remotely Accessible Learning) system, currently under development at National Chiao Tung University, as an example of how computer networks are being used to construct an interactive and integrated cooperative distance learning environment.
