The nature of religion lies in human beings’"self-alienation"in the"holy image"of religion,the essential thing-in-itself that regularizes human beings’thoughts and actions.Devout religious belief is accomplished by establishing,believing in,and internalizing the holy image.Human beings create religion in order to acquire the existential meaning of holiness from religion’s holy image.However,this existential meaning can only be acquired from the holy image,and it cannot be anything but human beings’religious self-alienation.Philosophy—acting as the vitality of civilization’s living soul—relies on revealing the selfalienation in human beings’holy image and on revealing the self-alienation in human beings’"unholy image,"leading civilizational transformation using new philosophical concepts.
