Vladimir Nabokov, a writer with strong self-awareness in his art, has exerted a great influence on the Black Humor movement by means of his unique narrative style. This paper analyzes Black Humor’s development in the context of contemporary literary history to illustrate how Nabokov has left his imprint on this literary movement in particular and on narrative experiments of contemporary fiction in general.
