This study is focused on three questions:(1)What factors will
in- fluence an enterprise to select its technology transaction
mode; (2)How to evaluate the performance of the technology
transaction; and (3)What is the role of the process of the
technology transac- tion in evaluating the performance of the
technology transaction. This study has builded up a conceptual
framework of four factors of technology transaction mode
including technology characterist- ics, industrial environment,
motivation of technology transaction and firms''''characteristics.
In empirical study,we select electronic and food industries.
The major findings are summerized as follow- ing:(1)In
determining the technology transaction mode,there is an
obviously difference between Electronic and Food industry.In
Ele- ctronic industry,technology complexes leadthe corporation
tend to adapt the technology transaction mode of R&D
cooperation;and tec- hnology accumulation help corporations
tend to adapt the technol- ogy transaction mode of R&D in house;
in addition,technology tacit will force corporation to adapt
the mode of market transaction.In Food industry,only technology
accumulation and tacitness have su- pported as the same as
electronic industry.As of the technology standardizing, it is
an aboviously factor in influence of these two industries.
Finally,the firms'''' chatacteristics and technology transaction
motivation behave in the same way for these two
industries, implied that corporation would select different
technology transaction mode based on their characteristics
and motivations. (2)In the performance of technology
transaction, there is also an obviously difference between
electronic and food industry.In electronic industry, the
performance is mainly decided by the four factors of
technology transaction mode; in food industry,the
performance is influenced by these four factors transaction
mode selection, and the process of technology transaction.
