Fred Davis在1989年提出科技接受模式(Technology Acceptance Model, TAM)後，被許多研究所廣為採用，可以來預測與解釋新資訊科技的接受。應用此理論在不同問題、背景或結合不同理論、方法的相關實證研究，不勝枚舉。然而，由於TAM的諸多不同應用，包括：結合其他理論、應用不同方法、探討不同背景下的不同問題，導致若干研究結論的分歧，近來更造成大家質疑TAM理論的價值。 在此的現象下，近來開始有針對TAM為主軸進行實證文獻的彙總分析被發表，或結合包含TAM在內的各相關理論以企圖形成解釋力較高的科技接受與使用的理論。然而，累積這些已發表的研究，如何能夠對TAM模式中各變數關係，做更明確的確認，則迄今仍付闕如。因此，本研究針對過去TAM實證研究的結果，及各變數關係在不同研究發現上的不一致現象作彙總分析，以便能夠更正確的驗證該理論中各構面間的關係，供應用TAM時之參考。 本研究以彙總分析(Meta-Analysis)的方法，針對在1989-2003十多年間已發表的TAM實證研究中，共58篇相關實證研究進行質性與量化的分析、並探討TAM理論擴充構面對於TAM解釋能力之影響。研究結果顯示在原始TAM模型中的10組變數關係，有超過50%的研究均發現顯著的正相關。但是擴充的TAM模式，在解釋力上並沒有比原始的TAM模式有明顯的增加。

Technology acceptance model (TAM), proposed by Fred Davis in 1986, is considered the most influential and commonly employed theory for describing an individual's acceptance of information systems. However, few previous efforts examined the accomplishments and clarified inconsistent findings in empirical research using TAM. The paper conducted a meta-analysis. Fifty-eight articles published by leading information system journals in the past fifteen years are examined and summarized. The results revealed the robustness of TAM. In addition, the explanatory power did not significantly increase while new constructs were introduced into the TAM model.
