This article investigates the internet financial disclosure index in China’s local government. By analyzing governmental financial disclosure on the internet as a tool for the public to access its financial accountability, the index is build from data which is obtained from the web-site of China’s local government. The index includes 3 parts of information, the categories of disclosure financial statement, the qualities of disclosure financial information and the convenience of internet searching. Data is collect from 31 China’s local government in 2007. The results show the eastern China local governments have higher transparency in internet financial information disclosure than the others regions.
