Abstract The main purpose of this study was to construct the goal orientation, athletics’ coachability, and sources of sport-confidence model of collegial basketball union players, and examined goodness of fit and causal relationship of this model. The subjects of this study were 383 basketball player of Collegial Basketball Union (UBA), Division I and Division II Final Eight teams in 2007. Instruments used in this study were “Goal Orientation, Athletics’ Coachability, and Sources of Sport-Confidence Questionnaire.” Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and Structural Equation Model were used for data analysis. The results showed the model already reached an acceptable level based on the sampled materials. Second, there were significant positive effects of goal orientation, athletics’ coachability on the sources of sport-confidence, and goal orientation on athletics’ coachability in this model. The researcher suggested that the coaches can build favorable sport goal situation in order to improve players’ coachability and the sources of sport-confidence.
